Clean Water Wells
Access to clean and safe water is a fundamental human right and a cornerstone for community health and development. We aim to provide sustainable water solutions to the underserved communities of Rubuguri by constructing new wells and renovating old ones, and installing community water tanks to ensure reliable access to clean water.
We have recently received approval from the Rubuguri town council to renovate two existing springs located in Kyinyasi and Kafuga villages. These springs are connected to groundwater and provide a permanent solution that is not reliant on seasonal rains. Both springs are currently in poor condition. The water flow is slow, pipes are leaking, and dirt is contaminating the water due to inadequate construction. Our renovation efforts are focused on:
Repairing and replacing leaking pipes to ensure clean water flow.
Improving the construction around the springs to facilitate easy and hygienic water collection.
Ensuring a consistent and reliable water supply.
In the near future, we plan to expand our efforts by installing water tanks for rainwater harvesting at the household level - providing an additional sustainable water source that will provide access to sufficient water even during dry seasons.
